Number: 21 / 1 Highlights / Video / Clip Biogrpahy: Chris Chris Childs (born November 20, 1967 in Bakersfield, California) is an American professional basketball player. He played his high school basketball at Foothill High School. A tough-minded ft 6 in guard who starred at Boise State University in the late 1980s, Childs went undrafted in the 1989 NBA Draft and began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association. Childs played for five different teams in his first three seasons in the league, but he eventually found a home with the Quad City Thunder, with whom he won a league title and an MVP award in 1994 after averaging 17.9 points and 7.6 assists. His success in the minor leagues proved to be his ticket to the NBA, as he signed with the New Jersey Nets prior to the start of the 1994-95 NBA season. Childs spent his first two seasons in the NBA with the Nets, and he averaged an NBA career-high 12.8 points in 1995-96. However, Childs is perhaps best remembered for his five-year (1996--2001) tenure with the New York Knicks, who relied on his tight defense and streaky three-point shooting ability during their perennial runs to the NBA Playoffs. He led the team in assists (6.1 per game) as a starter during the 1996-97 season, and he was a valuable contributor off the bench during his next four years with the team. A visible figure in the New York media, he also represented the Knicks on the 1998-99 NBA All-Interview Team and won the New York Press Photographers Association's 2000 "Good Guy Award" for his involvement with several charities and youth basketball programs. In 2001, Childs was traded to the Toronto Raptors for Mark Jackson and Muggsy Bogues, with whom he played for one-and-a-half seasons before rejoining the Nets in 2002. Ward Charlie Ward, Jr. (born October 12, 1970 in Thomasville, Georgia) is a retired American professional basketball player, college football Heisman Trophy winner and a Major League Baseball draftee. By some sports media and publications Ward has received recognition for being one of the best all around athletes of our time.Ward won the 1993 Heisman Trophy as a quarterback for Florida State University, and subsequently led the Seminoles to their first-ever National Championship when FSU defeated Nebraska 18-16 in the 1993 Orange Bowl. Upon graduation, Ward stated he was undecided about professional basketball or football and made it clear that he would not consider playing in the NFL unless selected in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft. Because teams did not want to waste a first round pick on a player that might eventually choose the NBA, Ward was not selected in the 1st round of the NFL Draft. Instead of pursuing a career as a football player in the NFL, and having been chosen in the 1st round (26th overall) of the 1994 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, he began his career in the NBA as a point guard. An inquiry was made during Ward's rookie year with the Knicks to become the backup quarterback for Joe Montana of the Kansas City Chiefs, but Ward declined.
Ward played sparingly in his rookie year under head coach Pat Riley, but the Knicks organization referred to him as "the point guard of the future." When assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy took over the head coaching position, Ward's time on the floor began to increase, becoming the primary backup for point guard Derek Harper. During his NBA career, Ward established himself as a good three-point shooter, a reliable ball distributor, and a respected floor leader. Ward was selected to participate in the 1998 NBA All-Star three-point competition, finishing fourth in the event. He soon helped the Knicks reach the 1999 NBA Finals before falling to the San Antonio Spurs. Ward was traded to the Phoenix Suns in January 2004 as part of the blockbuster trade that brought Stephon Marbury to the Knicks and was promptly cut by the Suns for salary purposes. Ward spent the remainder of the season with the Spurs and signed a contract with the Houston Rockets the following summer. After maintaining relatively good health over his first decade in the league, injuries caused Ward to miss most of the 2004-05 season. Because of his injuries Ward retired.

Biography: DeSagana N'gagne Diop (pronounced [səˈɡɑːnə ˈdʒɒp] Suh-GAH-nah JOP) (born January 30, 1982 in Dakar, Senegal) is a Senegalese professional basketball player currently playing for the NBA's New Jersey Nets. Standing seven feet tall (213 cm) and weighing 280 lbs. (127 kg), Diop's natural position is center.Diop was originally drafted directly out of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 8th overall pick of the 2001 NBA Draft. He played 193 games in four seasons with the Cavaliers, as a rarely looked at backup, averaging 1.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 10.8 minutes per contest. Being deemed a castoff in Cleveland he was wisely signed by the Dallas Mavericks as a free agent on August 19, 2005 to a three-year contract. Where Diop quickly established himself as a defensive stalwart and potent shot blocker and rebounder, providing relief for Erick Dampier as a center. After December 31, 2005, he started most of the games for the Mavericks. Measurably assisting in their vast improvement and strong drive that resulted in the team qualifying to play in the NBA finals as representatives of the western conference. Against the New York Knicks in a pre-season game, Diop hit the game-winning tip-in of a missed shot by Keith Van Horn. Against the Denver Nuggets in November 2005, he registered 16 rebounds with a career-high 6 blocks - including a denial of Carmelo Anthony's potentially game-winning field goal attempt.Although the 2005-2006 season was clearly a breakthrough for Diop, he continues to work hard. In an interview with a Dallas paper he said that his main focus for the summer will be "post moves and conditioning." Diop's defense is applauded around the league; for the 05-06 season, he ranked 11th in total blocks, 14th in blocks per game, and 4th in blocks per 48 minutes. On February 19, 2008, Diop was traded to the New Jersey Nets along with signed and traded Keith Van Horn, Devin Harris, Trenton Hassell, Maurice Ager, $3 million cash and 2008 and 2010 first round draft picks in exchange for Jason Kidd, Malik Allen and Antoine Wright.

Biography Posey attended and played basketball at Chamberlin Middle School and Chamberlin High School in Twinsburg, Ohio. He grew up with Tennessee Titans cornerback Kelly Herndon who also went to Chamberlin. Posey was selected out of Xavier University by the Denver Nuggets with the 18th pick of the 1999 NBA Draft. He played a little over three seasons with the team before being sent to the Houston Rockets in a three-team deal also involving the Philadelphia 76ers on December 18, 2002. After finishing the season with the Rockets, he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies as a free agent in the 2003 off-season. On August 2, 2005, Posey was involved in the largest trade in NBA history, which involved 13 players and five different teams. Through this trade, the Miami Heat acquired point guard Jason Williams, forward Antoine Walker, shooting guard Andre Emmett, and the draft rights to Roberto Duenas. The Memphis Grizzlies received shooting guard Eddie Jones, and point guard Raul Lopez. Boston, who dealt Walker to the Heat, received a package that included Qyntel Woods, the draft rights to Albert Miralles, two second-round draft picks, and cash. The Boston Celtics also picked up Curtis Borchardt. Utah was able to acquire center Greg Ostertag, and the New Orleans Hornets acquired small forward Rasual Butler and shooting guard Kirk Snyder. With the Heat, Posey won the first NBA championship of his career in 2006. Posey averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in 2005-06. He is notable for his three-point shooting ability. Posey had a somewhat disappointing regular season with Miami, but in the playoffs did more than expected. Now being switched to the Heat's sixth man, Posey was able to average 11.8 points per game on 48.8 shooting against Miami's first-round opponent, the Chicago Bulls. Against Miami's second-round opponent, the New Jersey Nets, Posey was forced to play defense, particularly guarding Vince Carter or Richard Jefferson. Although Posey's scoring dropped, his defense was said to have been the key to the Heat's advancement into the conference finals. Posey again had to focus on defense against Miami's third-round opponent, the Detroit Pistons, particularly guarding Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and even sometimes Chauncey Billups or Rasheed Wallace. Posey was put to guard these players because other Miami perimeter defenders have other priorities. Dwyane Wade, for example, focuses on offense more than defense, and that is a huge reason why he averaged the most points for his team. Other perimeter players such as Jason Williams or Antoine Walker are labeled poor defensive players and would get taken advantage of have they been challenged defensively. Against the Dallas Mavericks, James Posey was a key factor on both ends of the court. Defensively, he, along with Udonis Haslem, provided tough defense on the Mavericks All-Star, Dirk Nowitzki. He also guarded Josh Howard, who had caused problems for Miami when Antoine Walker was guarding him. On the offensive end, Posey played a huge role in knocking down shots because Miami's All-Stars, Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal, were often double-teamed and needed to pass the ball. In Game 6 of the NBA Finals, Posey hit a huge shot to give Miami an 87-81 advantage with four minutes remaining. In Game 4 of the Finals, Posey was very impressive in Miami's blowout, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Head coach Pat Riley said he likes the switch to have Posey come off the bench (for most of the regular season, Riley would have Posey start and Walker come off the bench). However, it seems that both of the players benefited from the change. On July 1, 2006, Posey opted to exercise his $6.4 million contract option, opting not to become a free agent. On April 9, 2007, Posey was arrested on a DUI charge and was taken to a Miami-Dade County Prison.[1] However, Posey continued playing with the Heat and coach Pat Riley stated he would support Posey. On August 25, 2007,

Bogans was chosen in the second round with the 43rd pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, but was traded to the Orlando Magic on Draft Day.
